A photographic project recording and documenting portraits of re-enactors involved in living history societies in the UK from 2009 to 2011. The work was designed to explore how history is interpreted and then re-interpreted by modern society. This is a not-for-profit project and any income raised as a result of print sales will be used to support travelling and printing costs only.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tim Gray’s work is driven by Anarcho-Socialist/Syndicalist theory which informs the narrative dimension of his practice. “My work is a response to both historical and present day events which are interpreted through a range of aesthetic languages to create a number of different discourses for both the viewer and artist.”
